College World Series History
The College World Series has been held in Omaha, Nebraska since 1950. Starting in 2011, the event moved from Rosenblatt Stadium, to TD Ameritrade Park. The move to a new stadium became official in documents in 2009 when the NCAA and College World Series of Omaha, Inc signed a 25 year contract starting in 2011 to keep the CWS in Omaha until 2035. The rules deciding who is in the CWS has been the same since 2003. The championship final is a best of three series between the 2 four-team bracket winners. Games are scheduled to be played Saturday, Sunday, and Monday evenings. Last year in 2017 the Florida Gators took home their first CWS title in its program’s history after taking down the LSU Tigers in 2 games.
TD Ameritrade Park opened back in 2011 and can hold up to 24,000 people. Not only is it home to the CWS, but also to the Creighton Bluejays Baseball team. This year, the stadium will host the CWS from June 18 – June 27, with events starting as early as June 15. The stadium is having special tours in honor of the College World Series available daily from Monday, June 18- Friday, June 22. Tickets for the tours are $7 and can be purchased at the box office. Guests participating in these tours will have the opportunity to see the clubhouse, batting cage, dugout, and more. This is your all access pass to the behind-the-scenes of the College World Series.
The times of the tours are as follows:

College World Series Festivities
The CWS festivities don’t start on June 18 like the games do, they start before that on June 15 with the opening celebration day. The CWS Fan Fest is a week of events for fans of all ages. It is a festival with giveaways, live music, interactive games, special appearances and much more all presented by Capital One. The best part is, all the events are free! This will give you something to do while waiting for the games to start.
Fan Fest is a great way to celebrate the CWS in Omaha. Open daily, there is an abundance of things to do. Test your skills at the many tabled games and booths for a chance to win prizes and bragging rights. College World Series Parking
There are roughly 4,000 parking stalls on the TD Ameritrade Park and CenturyLink campus that are going to be available to the public. There is public parking in Lot A and the CenturyLink Center garage, which will be open on a first-come, first-served basis, and on the Creighton University campus. Lot A will cost $10 per vehicle while the CenturyLink Center garage will be $12 per vehicle. All of the lots will open at 8 in the morning, and close an hour and a half after the conclusion of the event. Tailgating is allowed but you cannot extend your tailgate festivities into parking stalls other than you own.
With only 4,000 spots available, parking is going to be limited. Knowing this, the metro offers the Stadium Circulator which will go right to the stadium during the entire CWS. This option can get you where you need to go, but will be crowded, and does not offer much beyond that.
With that being said, there are other ways in which you can go to the stadium, with a bit more style. Limousines and party buses are more fashionable vehicles that can take you to the game, help you tailgate, and drop you off after. They are the premiere party vehicles and make taking a large group of people to the stadium simple. Tailgating can be taken to a whole new level with a limo or party bus. They can take you to the game early, provide A/C, and ice cold beverages when you need them while you party on and off the bus until the games start.
These vehicles can also be the sound system for your outdoor and indoor tailgate, and be the life of the party. Not only are these vehicles great for partying and keeping you cool, they are also great for helping you bring your tailgate necessities. Limos and party buses are larger than your typical car, which means more space available to hold your belongings. Getting one of these vehicles is a great option if you plan to tailgate with a group of friends and enjoy your time at TD Ameritrade Park.
We’re Going to Need a Bigger Bus
If the party option is not for you but you still need to get a large group of people to the game, a charter bus rental is the vehicle for you. Charter buses have repeatedly been used to transport large groups because they provide comfort and ease.
Cushioned seats, A/C, sound systems, and TVs are some of the perks of getting a charter bus, along with the fact that you can relax while a licensed chauffeur takes you where you want to go. We can even transport you from your school all the way to Omaha to help you cheer on your team!
